Want to see how you test a reflector? Check here!

A little while back I saw a lighting test at that sunlight supply did on there reflectors. I found this test so informative I decided to duplicate it. The goal is to test every reflector I could get my hands on. This is a work in progress so I will just keep updating this post as I complete the test on more reflectors.

So here is how the test was/is done.

Every hood is tested in a Growlab Horticultural Grow Room model GL 120 which is just shy of 4′x4′

The hood are centered so the lamp is centered directly over the number 8 on the test grid.

Each hood is tested at 1 and 2 foot mounting hight for 600 watt HPS and 2 and 3 foot mounting hight for 1000 watt HPS.

I have received some feedback that the test could have been done different… and I do agree it’s not a perfect test, but every hood is tested under the exact same conditions so I believe it is a fair and pretty accurate test.

Let me know what you think!
